Windsor - boasts the largest inhabited castle in the world

... But Windsor isn’t just the castle….

The Castle of Windsor was first built by William the Conqueror...

Windsor, is 25 miles west of London and easily accessible by direct train from London.

It is a fantastic place for a day or half day excursion, and I’d love to show you its treasures.

I am an accredited Windsor Castle and Windsor & Eton guide, and it's where I live.

    Let me take you into a thousand years of history at Windsor castle, or for a stroll along the River Thames, peaceful and so different from how it appears in London.
    Windsor boasts the largest inhabited castle in the world, which is the Queen’s weekend home. It contains St. George's Chapel, architecturally amazing, stuffed full of history and burial place of ten British monarchs. You may be able to watch Windsor’s own Changing of the Guard ceremony and you can see inside the State Apartments.
    But Windsor isn’t just the castle….
    - the Great Park with thousand year old oak trees;
    - mediaeval cobbled streets, including the shortest street in Britain
    - Eton with an old fashioned high street and Eton College, the school that produced 19 British prime ministers (including David Cameron)
    - the peaceful River Thames decorated old canal boats.

If you’re in Windsor I can recommend the Windsor walk on Saturday and Sundays. Meet at 11:30 am on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday by the Visitor Information Centre in Royal Windsor station. All are guided by Blue Badge colleagues, and sometimes by me.
